If music was an animal, what would it be and why?
If music was an animal, it would be a bird. Always in tune & full of beautiful melodies.

If you had a banana, 2 left ankle socks and a dwarf, where would you take them and what would you do?
I’d take them to Holand! Just coz its half my blood & I’ve never been there. The banana, left ankle socks & dwarf can come on a journey with me.

What has been your biggest inspiration during your dance music career?
I’ve had many inspirations during my career. I’m definitely gonna give a mention to my good friend Lukas. We’ve been mates before we ever thought of DJing or even knew about the dance music scene. Watching him do so well with MAS productions in its early days & DJing in general was one of the inspirations that made me want to achieve & go as far as I could in music!

$ure$hot‘s Bio

Adrian Thompson aka $ure$hot has been DJ’ing at clubs, parties and on the radio since 2002. He first started his career on the turntables at Upfm, where he has since progressed into the primetime slot on Fridays from 6pm till 8pm. This show has created a large and loyal following over the years and is growing every week.

He has played at parties with world-renowned brands such as Slinky, Summadayze & Decadance, and large local brands like Bezerk, Innovation Entertainment and Tag Promotions. $ure$hot’s supported a large number of international acts, listing huge names like Deekline & Wizard (UK), Baobinga & 30Hz (UK), DJ Friendly (AUS), Karl Sav (AUS), Koma & Bones (UK), Freeflow 45 (UK), Vent (UK) & many more.

His style of music is one of a kind, ranging from twisted progressive and dark tech, right through to the deep and soulful sub genres of Breaks & DnB. $ure$hot’s always endeavoring to take people on a musical journey… Main objective: To give punters an unforgettable aural experience everytime he plays.

He started promoting events in 2003 with “Eastern Breach”, which was held at Tangent Bar in Highland Park. This gig pulled numbers in excess of 700 people everytime. In 2005 he joined forces with Joe Revell and Apex to create “Infectious”. Their production name is “Infected Audio” and this event is currently the driving force behind the Auckland breaks scene of today.

The last installation of Infectious was the 4th birthday event featuring Vent (UK) & Tim Richards on the 20th November 2009 @ Ink & Coherent. This was a huge success & has now led onto bigger things, securing the Infectious brand a supporting room with the large superclub gig ‘Chemistry’ run by M2 events coming in the near future. He’s also recently played at the Upfm Solar Series @ Tahaki Reserve, which saw him deliver the closing set in front of 4000+ people.

Upcoming gigs for $ure$hot are as follows… Upfm’s 8th Birthday @ Fu, The Big Club Night Out @ Studio and playing support for the much anticipated Foreign Beggars/Freestylers event also to be held @ Studio!
