Ditto
‘Ditto’ is the solo alias of Tim Corin, a tech-house and groovy-techno DJ/Producer based in Auckland, NZ since early 2010. In already such a short space of time, he has quickly infiltrated his local club scene with the way he ‘story tells’ his sets along with flair and tricks in the mix using laptops, controllers, 3-deck mixes and live samplers etc. The brand is also rapidly gaining international praise with releases on some of the genres bigger labels such as Kasey Taylors ‘Vapour’, Ricky Stone’s ‘Flat Belly’, Alex D’elia’s ‘Frequenza’ with many more release/remixes on other heavyweight locales.
Originally developing a passion for the sounds of progressive house and trance, production was the first thing he started dabbling in. As he developed his tricks and methods that would later be revealed through Ditto, he met with his long time friend Peter Carson and formed his first public alias ‘Ear Candy’. Playing big room house and the techier side of electro, Ear Candy served as a vehicle to network himself into the local club scene as they rocked floors on all the major superclub events supporting countless internationals. Once finding his production feet in the background, Ear Candy was put aside and Ditto was formed to be primarily a production driven project which has now developed into a top-quality DJ brand.
Ditto’s productions always have a signature sound characterized with driving sub baselines, deep synth work, crisp percussion. As early work was more deep and driving, recently his tracks are evolving to include tech-house vibes and themes. He also has a pet project doing ‘groove edits’ taking old classics techno tracks and sprucing them up for modern sets. Whatever the tone of the tune, his top-notch productions have received praise from some of the biggest DJs and festivals around the world.
